Dining events: Geneva's Bien Trucha expands menu to a toda madre

Bien Trucha's expansion

To accommodate more diners, starting in January Mexican restaurant Bien Trucha plans to make its entire food and drink menu available next door at its sister restaurant, a toda madre. In addition to serving Bien Trucha's food, a toda madre will continue serving its own menu and accept a limited number of reservations. Bien Trucha continues on a first-come first-served basis.

Emmett's brewmaster dinner

Join the brewmaster for a beer dinner at Emmett's Brewing Company starting at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 9, at the Palatine location. Dinner includes lobster risotto cake, black and white bean soup, a berry mint sorbet, porcini rubbed beef tenderloin, Nutella cupcake with pistachio rum frosting and espresso gelato. Beer pairings include 1871 Pre-Prohibition Lager, Irish Dry Stout, Robust Porter and English Brown Ale. It costs $59.95 per person, gratuity included.

Wa-pa-ghetti's specialties

Specials abound at Wa-Pa-Ghetti's Pizza. Monday through Friday, eat all you want for $6.50, which includes spaghetti or mostaccioli, salad, garlic bread or pizza by the slice. Other daily $7 specials include the meatball parmigiana, super sausage delight, giant Italian submarine and the spicy barBQ beef — all served with garlic bread, a small chef salad and a soft drink.
