Seven men charged after Waukegan gunfight
A gang-related gunfight last week in Waukegan led to seven men charged with various crimes.
Just after 8 p.m. Thursday, Waukegan police responded to a gas station on the 2400 block of Grand Avenue after a report of multiple shots fired.
Officers from several units surrounded the area and located the men on the 500 block of Tiffany Drive. No one was injured during the shootings.
All seven men are from Waukegan and are affiliated with gangs, police said.
A search of the home where they were found recovered four hand guns, three of which were illegally purchased and one reported stolen, as well as cannabis and drug paraphernalia, police said.
All seven were charged with felony mob action. They are: Gregory Booth, 21, of the 4400 block of Brownstone Way; Jamil Sanders, 22, of the 2500 block of Dugdale Road, Lorenzo Bradley, 22, of the 2500 block of Dugdale Road; Dylan Fonder, 24, of the 1600 block of 11th Street.
Michael Hill, 22, of the 500 block of Tiffany Drive, was also charged with unlawful possession of cannabis, unlawful use of a weapon by a street gang member, aggravated discharge of a firearm, criminal defacement of a firearm, and possession of a stolen firearm.
Michael Price, 22, of the 1600 block of 11th Street, was also charged with unlawful use of a weapon and aggravated discharge of a firearm. Demetrius Woods, 20, of the 1300 block of Greenfield Avenue, was also charged with unlawful use of a weapon by street gang member, aggravated discharge of a firearm and criminal defacement of a firearm.
