Roskam, Truax, Cross headline Palatine GOP event

U.S. Rep. Peter Roskam, U.S. Senate candidate Doug Truax and Illinois Treasurer candidate Tom Cross will be among the guests Saturday, Jan. 4 when the Palatine Township Republican Organization (PTRO) holds its regular monthly meeting.

The meeting takes place at 9 a.m. at the PTRO office, 839 N. Quentin Road in Palatine. Doors open at 8:30 a.m.

Truax, of Downers Grove, is running against state Sen. Jim Oberweis of Sugar Grove, Kane County regional school board member Chad Koppie of Gilberts and Air Force veteran William Lee of Rockton in March’s Republican primary. The winner will challenge Democratic Sen. Dick Durbin in the November general election. Cross is running to replace Treasurer Dan Rutherford, who is running for governor.
