Daily Herald Report

Video gambling machines are banned in Island Lake, but village officials may reconsider their stance on the controversial issue. The village board voted 4-3 in August to outlaw the machines. Since then, however, the communities around the village have opted to allow video gambling. The village board discussed the issue last week and could do so again when it meets at 7:30 p.m. Jan. 9 at village hall, 3720 Greenleaf Ave. A new vote could happen Jan. 23, officials said.
