Day of holiday music returns to Elgin Saturday in ‘Jingle Bell Jam!’

Submitted by Side Street Studio Arts

Side Street Studio Arts, 15 Ziegler Court in downtown Elgin, will host “Jingle Bell Jam!,” a day of music, featuring a wide range of area bands and solo musicians. The event will run from 11 a.m. to midnight on Saturday, Dec. 21. It is open to the public, with a request for a $10 suggested donation at the door.

The lineup of artists represents the Elgin-area music scene with a wide variety of musical genres, including rock, experimental, rap, and more.

“Since we opened Side Street in March, we have been surprised time and time again by the range of amazing musical talent in Elgin,” said founder and director Erin Rehberg. “We hope this event will expose even more music fans to this range of talent, and dive us, head first, into the holidays with a great party!”

Performers include: Steve and Bethany Barnes, Picasso Cerrado, Copper Harbor, Kavalier, Little Yellow Dog, Dave Newton, Oceans and Oceans, Prairie Porn, Red Deer Cave People, The Reserve, and Trocar Buttons.

Side Street Studio Arts, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, was founded earlier this year by Elgin residents Tanner Melvin and Erin Rehberg. Currently under the direction of Amanda Harris, Melvin, and Rehberg, Side Street has become an outlet for the Elgin arts scene providing accessible space encouraging all aspects of the artistic process from creation to curation.
