Chaparral Soccer Players Earn Post-Season Recognition

College of DuPage women's soccer players Yaricza Flores (Bensenville) and Angela Toritto (Wood Dale) have been named to the All-American squad for the 2013 season by the National Junior College Athletic Association.

The Lady Chaparrals finished the season with a 13-6-0 record with their lone loss a 2-1 overtime heartbreaker against Anoka-Ramsey (Minn.) in the District Final.

Flores, Chaparral team captain, had 16 goals and 12 assists for 44 points this season and was named a first team All-American. Her 12 assists were ninth best in the nation. Toritto finished the season third in the nation in scoring, tallying 23 goals and 12 assists for 58 points.

Additionally, several players were named All-Conference and All-Region.

Women's All-Conference First Team selections include Flores (MVP), Toritto, Emily Plourde, Yezenia Torres. Second team selections include Heather Muno, Katie Rubright, Inga Tebbe and Christina Siddu. Flores, Toritto, Plourde and Torres also were named All-Region.

Men's All-Region selections include Marcel Carrasco (West Chicago) and Nolan DuBois (Elmhurst).
