Night life events: Winter Tartan Ale now on tap at Rock Bottom
Winter tartan
Get into character with the seasonal Winter Tartan Ale at Rock Bottom Brewery locations in Lombard, Warrenville and Orland Park. Available now through Jan. 5, the traditional Scottish ale is known for its smooth, malty flavor and hint of vanilla. It’s $5.50 for a 21-ounce mug. Also new to the bar is the pomegranate margarita — Herradura Silver Tequila Cointreau, house-made agave margarita mix and a splash of pomegranate juice — for $9.

Christmas beer
Ho, ho, Hofbrauhaus! The German microbrewery and restaurant offers the Christmas Festbier through the end of the month. An amber lager with a malty flavor, Christmas Festbier costs $6.99 for a half-liter.

New specialties
Fox and Hound’s cocktail menu welcomes several new specialties including the Creamsicle, with UV Whipped Vodka, orange juice and cream; Passion Pops, made with SKYY infusions coconut vodka, lime juice, agave nectar and pineapple juice; and the Key Lime Pie Martini, made with Van Gogh Vanilla Vodka, Monin Key lime pie syrup, cream and sour mix. Or try the beer cocktail, Lemonhead — Cointreau, lemon juice and simple syrup topped with Blue Moon. Cocktails range from $6 to $9.
