Northwest Festival Orchestra holiday concert Wednesday night

Northwest Festival Orchestra

The Northwest Festival Orchestra and Chorus, under the direction of Dr. Verne Schwager, will present its “Holiday Spectacular!” concert 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 18 at the Harper College Performing Arts Center.

Tickets are $25 for adults, $20 seniors and $10 students.

The orchestra will be joined by the Northwest Festival Chorus and vocal soloists, including Susan Dennis, soprano, Charles Martin, baritone, and long time favorite Sarah Ponder, mezzo-soprano.

The ensemble will perform a selection of holiday favorites including excerpts from Georges Bizet's “L'Arlesienne Suites 1&2” and Russell Bennett's “Many Moods of Christmas.” Rounding out the program will be selections from “The Nutcracker” and religious and secular works relating to the season.
