The Illinois Association of Snowmobile Clubs says the Illinois Department of Natural Resources will no longer send out snowmobile registration renewal notices. The IDNR has gone to a paperless format, eliminating the postcard form snowmobilers have received in the past. There will be no grace period for unregistered snowmobiles; the IDNR will be issuing tickets. Snowmobilers can register by phone (866) 867-3542 or online at dnr.illinois.gov/recreation/snowmobile/Pages/information.aspx. The IASC works with the IDNR and private landowners to provide safe snowmobile riding. All snowmobile owners are urged to join a club to keep informed of changes in snowmobile laws and trail riding conditions. To contact the IASC, write to P.O. Box 265, Marseilles, Ill., 61341-0265, call (815) 795-2021, visit ilsnowmobile.com or email email@example.com.
