Des Plaines city employees/firemen support Angel Tree program

City of Des Plaines employees recently conducted the annual holiday “Angel Tree” Program providing clothing, toys and other specified “holiday wish list” items to those in need in the local community.

The Angel Tree Program is held in cooperation with The Salvation Army and has become a tradition among city employees, including members of the Des Plaines Professional Firefighter Association Local 4211.

According to Des Plaines Salvation Army Lieutenant Shannon Martinez, this December hundreds of local families will be recipients of the holiday gifts.

The city of Des Plaines also participates in Elk Grove Township’s Adopt-A-Family Program and the Mitten Tree Project.
