Three teens shot in Aurora, injuries not life threatening

Aurora police say they are continuing to investigate the shooting of three teenage boys Friday night on the city’s west side.

Police spokesman Dan Ferrelli said the Aurora boys — ages 13, 14 and 15 — were walking on the 1200 block of Colorado Avenue about 9 p.m. Friday, possibly with a group of other teenagers, when they were approached by a vehicle apparently occupied my more than one person.

An occupant of that vehicle fired several shots at the teens and then sped off heading east on Colorado, Ferrelli said.

Ferrelli said Saturday the 13-year-old suffered a gunshot wound to the abdomen, the 14-year-old suffered graze wounds to his back and one of his elbows, and the 15-year-old was shot in the legs. Aurora paramedics brought the teens to a city hospital for treatment and none of the injuries are considered life threatening.

A home from near where the gunshots were fired was also struck. No one in the home was injured.

Ferrelli said the vehicle involved in the shooting may have been an older, four-door white sedan. There was no description of its occupants.

No firm motive for the gunfire has yet been established, Ferrelli said. He said police were continuing to probe the shooting.
