Holiday Big Band Concert in Downtown Elgin Dec. 7
Holiday favorites with a Big Band twist and classic Big Band selections are in store at the 17-piece Jazz Consortium Big Band's free outdoor concert this Sat. Dec. 7, 3:30-4:30, at downtown Elgin's Civic Center Plaza, 150 Dexter Ct., Elgin. Website: www.jcbigband.com. Phone: 847-531-7056.
This is the band's second year performing for Elgin's "Winter Kaleidoscope" concert. It is a part of downtown Elgin's holiday festivities, which include free ice skating all day at the "City Skate" ice rink adjoining the concert, and the arrival of Santa to light the official holiday tree at 5:00. Free parking is available in adjacent lots and parking garage.
