Dining events: Sullivan's offers up lunch combo 'Mixer'

Mix it up with “The Mixer” at Sullivan's Steakhouse in Lincolnshire. The new lunch menu item offers up several appetizers, an entree and a side dish — for $18.50. Other new lunch dishes include the New England lobster roll on a buttered brioche roll; an Asian crunch salad, with arugula, Napa cabbage, chilled noodles, bean sprouts, mango, avocado, roasted almonds and sweet chili dressing; and a shaved steak sandwich with horseradish sauce and au jus.

TL's holiday wonton

Finish your meal at TL's in Bartlett with chocolate peppermint wontons. Available through Dec. 31, the three crisp wonton shells come filled with gooey dark chocolate and peppermint and dusted with powdered sugar, for $5. A dollar from each purchase benefits the Glen Ellyn Food Pantry.

Charitable water

Bottles of water at Jason's Deli now feature the cancer stories of its own employees, and for the next year, 10 cents of each bottle of water benefits The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center for cancer research, prevention and treatment. The bottles retail for $1.79 each.
