Pace Dial-A-Ride expands reservation hours

Several changes will be implemented in the new year for the Pace Dial-a-Ride Service that provides transportation to seniors and the disabled in the Barrington area.

Beginning Jan. 1, reservation hours will be expanded; riders can call from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. to reserve rides for the following day. Rides to medical appointments may be reserved up to a week in advance.

Fares for the service will increase to $2 a ride, and riders will no longer be able to purchase 10-ride tickets; instead, fares will be cash only and paid directly to the driver. Drivers will not carry change; exact change will be required.

For reservations, call Pace Dial-a-Ride at (800) 273-5939. If riders have questions, they can call the Barrington Area Council on Aging at (847) 381-5030.
