Ÿ Arlington Heights holiday lights: 4:30-5:45 p.m. Friday, Nov. 29, North School Park, Eastman Street and Arlington Heights Road. Tree-lighting ceremony. Free. www.ahpd.org.
Ÿ Elk Grove Village tree Lighting: 5:30-7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 29, Charles J. Zettek Municipal Complex, 901 Wellington Ave. Mayor Craig Johnson and Santa light more than 250,000 lights around the Municipal Complex, Elk Grove Public Library, Elk Grove Park District Pavilion, and on the tree. Hot chocolate, cookies, Santa and fireworks. Free. (847) 357-4040.
Ÿ Rosemont tree lighting: 5:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 29, at the MB Financial Park entertainment district west of Interstate 294 south of Balmoral Avenue. Mayor Bradley Stephens welcome attendees, the Chicago Skates Open Juvenile Team performs, with the tree lighting ceremony about 5:45 p.m.
Ÿ Round Lake Beach tree lighting: 6:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 29, at the village hall. The event begins at 6 p.m. and Santa arrives on a fire truck around 6:15 p.m.
Ÿ Schaumburg tree lighting: 6 p.m. Friday, Nov. 29, 101 Schaumburg Court. Santa arrives via fire truck to light the tree with Village President Al Larson, and poses for pictures afterward. Free.
Ÿ Prospect Heights tree lighting: 5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 30, in front of Prospect Heights City Hall, 8 N. Elmhurst Road. http://www.prospect-heights.il.us/. Free.
Ÿ Rosemont tree lighting: For residents only, 6 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 1, at the entrance to the gated residential community near Higgins Road and Scott Street. Free. www.rosemont.org.
