Vikings LB Erin Henderson arrested on DUI charge

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. — Minnesota Vikings middle linebacker Erin Henderson has returned to the team after a drunken-driving arrest a week ago.

Coach Leslie Frazier said Henderson would practice Wednesday and play Sunday against Chicago. He will not start.

According to police in suburban Eden Prairie, Henderson was arrested Nov. 19 for probable cause driving while intoxicated and possession of a controlled substance. Henderson did not practice with the Vikings last week or play at Green Bay because of what the team described as a personal matter.

The Vikings have had three players arrested in the last three weeks. General manager Rick Spielman issued a statement declaring the situations “unacceptable and disappointing.”

Henderson told reporters he’s sorry for his teammates and the organization and that his arrest was “a wakeup call.”
