Lottery set for Lake County ballot placement
A lottery to determine ballot position for Lake County candidates who filed simultaneously for the March primary will be held Dec. 9, the county clerk’s office announced.
Ballot order is determined by filing time, and 20 candidates in a variety of races were in line when the clerk’s office opened at 8:30 a.m. Monday for the start of filing. Some of them were running in the same races, so a lottery is needed to establish whose name appears first on the ballot.
The lottery will take place at 10 a.m. in the county building, 18 N. County St., Waukegan.
