Mesirow Financial exec joins Lake County Partners Board of Governors
Highland Park, Ill. (November 25, 2013) — Highland Park resident, Richard H. Korengold, managing director with Mesirow Financial's Wealth Management group, was recently invited to join the Lake County Partners Board of Governors.
Mesirow Financial has long been a supporter of Lake County Partners (LCP) and Richard Korengold has taken on the position of growing the firm's relationship with LCP to identify ways the firm can help support local citizens, governments and businesses, in part by providing subject matter experts to share their knowledge at LCP educational events and seminars. “Mesirow Financial has many employees who live and work throughout Lake County,” said firm chairman and chief executive officer Richard Price. “We are excited for the opportunity to work more closely with LCP and participate in programs that will help the local governments and businesses.”
This fall at the LCP Annual Meeting, Lake County Board Chairman Aaron Lawlor announced a new initiative aimed at attracting and retaining young professionals to live and work in Lake County. Lawlor will chair the Leadership Lake County initiative, and fellow Lake County Board member Nick Sauer (District 17), will serve as co-chair. The two are recruiting young professionals to create a task force that will work to identify impediments to attracting young talent by surveying young professionals and businesses about their needs and conducting focus groups. The task force will issue progress reports to the LCP Board of Governors and make recommendations. LCP Executive Director Michael Stevens said, "Attracting young talent and growing jobs in Lake County is one of our many goals and we look forward to working with Chairman Lawlor as he leads this important economic development initiative."
