Concert benefit to aid man with colon cancer

Submitted by Side Street Studios Arts

Side Street Studios Arts, 15 Ziegler Court in Elgin, invites the community to “Jonah’s Black Friday Benefit Show” from 7 to 11 p.m. Friday, Nov. 29.

Former Elgin resident Jonah Czerwinskyj was diagnosed in August with stage IV colon cancer at the age of 27. He is now undergoing chemotherapy treatments.

The bands performing include Sunday Mornings, Circus and the Fog, Cracked Vessel, and Sea of Sh!%.

There will be a $5 donation at the door, but any amount is also welcomed. All the proceeds will go toward helping Czerwinskyj while he goes through chemotherapy.

Czerwinskyj received his degree in teaching of history at Northern Illinois University in DeKalb and has been working as a Montessori teacher for the past few years. In June, he moved to Chicago with his girlfriend.
