Island Lake gets crafty with 27th annual holiday fair

Island Lake’s 27th annual Holiday Craft Fair, a two-day event featuring vendors selling jewelry, ceramics, wood items, tote bags, soaps and other goods, wrapped up Sunday.

Proceeds from the event, held at Island Lake village hall, will benefit the village’s parks and recreation department, which provides adult and children’s classes for the community throughout the year.

Santa Claus also took part Sunday, meeting with children and adults alike to spread holiday cheer.

The event also featured a bake sale, snacks and lunch sponsored by the Creative Playtime Department and local community groups.
