Lake Zurich kitchen fire under investigation

A kitchen fire left a home uninhabitable Saturday in Lake Zurich as authorities continued to investigate the cause, an officials with the Lake Zurich Fire Rescue Department said.

No one was injured and the residents of the home on the 400 block of Ginger Trail had extinguished the fire before the arrival of the fire departments, officials said in a news release.

The fire crew also said the fire did not extend into the kitchen wall or attic of the home. The cause has not yet been determined, officials said.

Lake Zurich was assisted by fire departments from Barrington, Countryside, Lincolnshire, Long Grove, Wauconda and Palatine.
