UW Health and Aurora explore partnership

MADISON, Wis. — UW Health in Madison and Aurora Health Care in Milwaukee are exploring a partnership.

The two health care providers are talking about how they could work together to better deliver affordable care to Wisconsin and the surrounding region.

UW Health encompasses the UW Hospital complex in Madison, American Family Children’s Hospital, UW Carbone Cancer Center and a smaller hospital complex on the east side of the city. It also has 45 clinics in 11 counties in Wisconsin and Illinois, the university School of Medicine and Public Health and 1,200 doctors.

Aurora has 15 hospitals in eastern Wisconsin, 159 clinics, 1,500 doctors and operates in 31 counties in Wisconsin and Illinois. UW Health spokeswoman Lisa Burnette tells the State Journal the talks haven’t produced anything concrete at this point.
