Seat belt, DUI crackdown this weekend in Lake County

The Lake County Sheriff’s Office is partnering with IDOT, Illinois State Police and nearly 250 local law enforcement agencies to crack down on seat belt law violators now through Thanksgiving weekend, authorities said in a news release. More than 700 Safety Belt Enforcement Zones will be conducted across Illinois during this high visibility enforcement campaign period. More than half will be conducted during nighttime hours, when belt use is typically at its lowest. Enforcement will be: Nov. 21 from 7:15 to 9:15 a.m. at Old McHenry Road and Route 22 in Long Grove; and Wadsworth and Sheridan roads in Beach Park on Nov. 22 from 11:15 p.m. to 1:15 a.m. and on Nov. 27 from 7:15 to 9:15 a.m. Roving DUI patrols are scheduled for 11 p.m. to 3:30 a.m. on: Nov. 21, Route 41 north of Route 120; Nov. 23 on Route 41 south of Route 120; Nov. 27 in central Lake County; and Nov. 29 in the Diamond Lake/Long Grove area.
