Portion of Rollins Road now open

The east leg of Rollins Road at Route 83 opened Tuesday, according to the Lake County Division of Transporation. Traffic on Route 83 has also been shifted to a temporary realignment to facilitate the construction of the Rollins Road underpass. Rollins Road between Hainesville Road and Route 83 remains closed for the construction of a temporary railroad track and crossing. This portion of Rollins Road is now scheduled to reopen to traffic Wednesday, Nov. 27. The extended closure is needed to accommodate the railroad switching over to the new temporary railroad track. The signed detour route for the Rollins Road closure is Hainesville Road to Washington Street to Route 83. For information about the Rollins Road Gateway project, visit rollinsroadgateway.com.
