Holidays on the Town Returns to Palatine November 22 & 23

The Downtown Palatine Business Association (DPBA) presents their annual Holidays On The Town Event on November 22 and 23 in downtown Palatine.

A Very Merry Shopping Event will be presented on Friday, November 22 from 5:00pm to 9:00pm. Select merchants in the downtown area, see listing below, will be offering festive hors d'oeuvres, sweets and wine along with a Rudolph Raffle, passport prizes and special savings to start your holiday shopping season. Wine tasting will be provided by D'Vine Wine and Gifts. The Passport to Prizes booklets can be purchased from any participating merchant for just $2. The passport will provide entry into prize drawings for each location visited during the event. Additional Rudolph Raffle tickets will be available for $1 each or 6 for $5.

On Saturday, November 23, the entire family is invited to attend Family Fun Day in downtown Palatine from 10:00am to 5:00pm. Children can pick up a free game card at participating merchants to play the Holiday Treasure Hunt Game, searching for pictures in stores throughout town to complete their game card. Holiday music will be provided by the chorus from Walter R. Sundling Jr. High School from 12pm to 1pm and Palatine Bank & Trust will be offering Winter Story Time from 11:30am to noon with refreshments. Treasure Hunt prizes include a bike donated by Mikes Bike Shop, popcorn and cookies for a year from Signature Sweets and Cookie Cards, a Giant Plush Frosty the Snowman donated by Foxglove Cottage, and an Elf on the Shelf donated by Harrington Manor. Family Fun Day will end with the Village of Palatine's tree lighting ceremony at 5:00pm in Towne Square led by Mayor Jim Schwantz and Santa. Music at the tree lighting will be provided by the Palatine Children's Chorus and Holiday Treasure Hunt prize winners will be announced as well. Couture Cupcake Café & Rock and Roll a la Mode will be hosting a Tree Lighting Party following the ceremony. Complimentary coffee and eggnog will be provided for the adults, and hot chocolate will be provided for the children.

Sponsors of this year's event include Mikes Bike Shop, D'Vine Wine and Gifts, and Ready Press.
