Tennessee Tech trips up Loyola

COOKVILLE, Tenn. — Dennis Ogbe scored 13 points to lead four players in double figures as Tennessee Tech turned back Loyola of Chicago 74-69 Tuesday night.

Reserves Ladon Carter and Ty Allen added 12 and 11, respectively, for the Golden Eagles (1-1) and Jeremiah Samarrippas had 10.

Freshman Milton Doyle, who originally signed with Kansas before returning home, had a career-high 23 for the Ramblers (1-1). Christian Thomas added 18 and Jeff White 12.

Doyle had 17 of his points in the second half to keep Loyola of Chicago in the game. His two free throws at the 6:25 mark produced the last tie, 65-65. Allen followed at 5:45 with a free throw for the Golden Eagles and after a long dry spell Samarrippas made two free throws to push the lead to three.

Ogbe also grabbed nine rebounds as Tennessee Tech had a 39-25 edge on the boards.
