North Suburban Symphony:

The North Suburban Symphony, based in Lake Forest, hosts its 25th anniversary concert at 4 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 17, at Gorton Community Center, 400 E. Illinois Road, Lake Forest. Ron Arden is in his seventh season as music director and conductor of this community orchestra, which draws member from as far away as Chicago and Wisconsin. Four high school-aged musicians are among its members. In a concert titled, “Symphonic Explosions,” a group of seven rock musicians will be on stage with the full North Suburban Symphony to perform rock classics from the 80s, featuring tunes from the Beatles, Simon and Garfunkel, Chicago, Moody Blues, and more. Featured also will be food tasting stations, and a chance to participate in a silent and a live auction. Tickets are $35 each, which covers all the festivities.
