Jets move TE Winslow back to active roster

FLORHAM PARK, N.J. — The New York Jets have reinstated tight end Kellen Winslow Jr., to the active roster, and he will be available to play Sunday against the Buffalo Bills.

Winslow was suspended by the NFL last month for violating the league’s policy on performance-enhancing substances. He returned to the team last Monday, but the Jets received a roster exemption in which they had until 4 p.m. this Monday to decide whether to move him back to the 53-man roster.

New York waived safety Rontez Miles to make room for Winslow, who is still unsure what caused the positive test. He said last week he suspected it might have been a new allergy medication.

Winslow was dealing with a balky right knee at the time of the suspension, but says he feels “fresh.”
