St. Charles teen wanted in summer Geneva burglaries

An 18-year-old from St. Charles is wanted by Geneva police in connection with a series of July car burglaries.

An arrest warrant has been issued for Malibu Barstow, of the 600 block of Pheasant Trail, on 10 counts of felony burglary and six counts of criminal property damage from July 7, according to Kane County court records.

The burglary charge carries a maximum prison term of five years, but probation also is an option.

Barstow is accused of burglarizing numerous vehicles near the 1100 block of East State Street breaking windows and damaging dashboards and glove boxes to steal items such as a device and iPod, were later found to be sold at a Warrenville pawnshop, according to a Geneva police report,

Barstow has pending charges of burglary and two drug charges in Kane County and is due in court Wednesday, records show.

He faces a felony charge of possession of a controlled substance, Dronabinol, which is synthetic THC, the active ingredient in marijuana, on Oct. 18, 2012, in St. Charles, records show.

Barstow also faces a residential burglary charge from Oct. 28, 2012, in Elgin. In that case, he is accused of entering home on the 1100 block of Championship Drive to commit a burglary, records show.

He also was arrested Oct. 31, 2012, in St. Charles and charged with felony possession of a controlled substance, in this case Alprazolam, also known as Xanax, records show.

Barstow also was arrested by St. Charles police on June 24 and charged with possession of marijuana and was fined $750, records show.
