Chicago man charged in shooting of 6-year-old boy

CHICAGO — A Chicago man accused of firing gunshots at a car that injured a 6-year-old boy has been charged with attempted murder.

Police announced late Friday that 23-year-old Cesar Delvalle had been arrested in the shooting, which took place Wednesday in the Gage Park area on the South Side.

He was expected to appear in bond court Saturday. It was not immediately clear if he had an attorney yet.

The Chicago Sun-Times reports that the shooting broke out after an argument between those in the car and several people who threw bottles at the vehicle.

The newspaper reported that the boy hit in the shoulder was inside the car. He was hospitalized in serious condition.
