A bicyclist found dead Nov. 3 near the Robert McClory bike path in Beach Park was identified Wednesday by the Lake County Sheriff's Office as Hector M. Escobar, 39, of Zion.

Police said Escobar was riding his bicycle northbound on the bike path near its intersection with the bridge at Wadsworth Road. He apparently lost control and fell off the bicycle, suffering spinal injuries which resulted in his death, according to the sheriff's office. Alcohol also appeared to be a factor, police said.
