Cook Memorial library to discuss parking expansion

The Cook Memorial Public Library District board’s building and grounds committee will meet Friday to discuss the possible expansion of the Aspen Drive Library’s parking lot and the facility itself.

The library, which opened in 2010, has 69 parking spots. Director Stephen Kershner has said he’d like at least 50 more. The potential site for parking expansion is on the east side of Aspen Drive, south of Route 60. It’s owned by the village of Vernon Hills.

The meeting is set for 8:15 a.m. at the Cook Park Library, 413 N. Milwaukee Ave., Libertyville.
