Hall of Heroes at Woodland

In honor of Veterans Day, Woodland Elementary District 50 is creating a Hall of Military Heroes in each school and the administrative office on Hunt Club Road in Gurnee. The hall will have photos and information about student family members and Woodland staff who have served or are serving in any branch of the military in an active duty, reserve or National Guard unit. “We welcome the opportunity to honor those who are serving or have served our country through this special recognition,” said Associate Superintendent of Education Lori Casey. “We thought this was a powerful opportunity for our students as we look for another avenue to teach about the armed forces and their impact on our country.” The Hall of Military Heroes will be maintained in the schools from Nov. 4 through Nov. 29.
