From now until Dec. 17, Hanover Township is accepting new, unwrapped toys for this year's toy drive. Toys, for boys and girls up to 15 years old, can be dropped off at township offices, 250 S. Route 59, Bartlett; the Astor Avenue Community Center, 7431 Astor Ave., Hanover Park; the Hanover Township Community Relations Office, One American Way in Elgin; or at any of 20 drop-off locations listed at www.hanovertownship.org. The last day to apply for the township's Sponsor-A-Family program is Thursday, Nov. 7. The program asks contributors to select a family size and then provide $35 in gifts for all the children in the family. For details on either program, call (630) 540-9085.
