County wants feedback on Rolling Knolls development plan

The Forest Preserves of Cook County will be hosting a community open houses for Rolling Knolls 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, Nov. 2, in the Rolling Knolls parking lot at 11N260 Rohrssen Road in Elgin. The meeting is to solicit comments on recently released site master plans prepared by architectural and engineering consultants. Draft plans for Rolling Knolls include major renovation of the former clubhouse into a visitors center and lodge building, improving the walking trails, adding an archery range, adding a disc golf course and creating a nature play area. In addition to the active recreation, restoration work will be completed along Poplar Creek and improved circulation/access will be completed throughout the site. The open houses will feature design boards for community members to review and offer feedback on prioritizing the proposed improvements. The plans will be posted online at www.fpdcc.com/siteplans on Friday, Nov. 1, and comments will be accepted through Nov. 15. Registration for the open houses is encouraged but not required.
