Lakemoor hosts first fishing derby

Lakemoor hosts its first Fall Fishing Derby from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 10, at Morrison Park on Lily Lake adjoining Route 120. Registration is required. Forms are available at the village hall, 28874 West Route 120, Suite C & D (at Route 120 and Darrell Road) or by visiting the upcoming events section at www.lakemoorparks.net. The deadline to register is 4:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 1. There is no entry fee. Prizes will be awarded in two age groups: under 12; and 13 and over. Participants must have a valid Illinois fishing license, if required, and must supply their own gear and bait. Awards in two age groups — under 12, and 13 and over — will be based on the largest and heaviest bass and pan fish. Fish may be caught on shore or in a boat.
