• Daniel Ferrer, 21, of the 0-100 block of North Dryden, Arlington Heights, was arrested around 3:30 a.m. Oct. 27 after his car left Oakton Street and crashed into bushes behind a motel at Rand Road and Oakton Street, police reports said. A passenger was not injured. Ferrer was charged with DUI, traffic violations, and violation of probation for unlawful possession of a hand gun.

• Rafael Leal, 19, of the 1500 block of North Kilpatrick, Chicago, was arrested around 12:40 a.m. Oct. 20 at Algonquin Road and Meijer Drive and charged with illegal possession and transportation of alcohol, aggravated DUI, and traffic violations.

• A man and woman stole two vacuum cleaners valued at $1,442 around 5:20 p.m. Oct. 20 from Kohl's, 800 W. Dundee Road. The woman asked an employee to show her the vacuums. The employee got them from the stockroom and left them for the woman to inspect. A security agent looking at a video screen saw the man carry the two vacuums out the south side door, setting off a security alarm. The two fled with the vacuums.

• Vandals hurled eggs that broke the plastic cover on a taillight between 12:30 and 8 a.m. Oct. 27 on a 2005 Ford Freestyle on the 300 block of South Windsor.

• Thieves stole an employee's brown wallet containing credit cards, IDs, and $600 cash between 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Oct. 21 in the J.F. Shroeder Warehouse, 2616 S. Clearbrook, after the employee left it on top of a toolbox.

• Thieves stole a woman's brown leather wallet containing a debit card, two credit cards, $100 cash and a vehicle key between 3:05 and 3:15 p.m. Oct. 25 after she left it in a washroom at Dollar Tree, 77 E. Rand Road.

• Thieves stole a backpack containing a laptop computer, tablet computer and documents between 5:15 and 6 p.m. Oct. 25 after the owner left it in a tire store parking lot, 3431 N. Arlington Heights Road. Value was estimated at $1,300.

• Thieves stole a brown leather jacket around 11 p.m. Oct. 26 after he left it on a stool in the bar area at Fox & Hound restaurant, 310 W. Dundee Road.

• Thieves stole two cellphones valued at $1,200 between 3 and 3:27 p.m. Oct. 26 from the AT&T store, 585 E. Palatine Road. The offenders left two dummy phones in their place.

• Burglars pried the door and door frame around noon Oct. 25 but did not get inside the apartment on the 900 block of East Golf Road.

• Burglars opened a sliding-glass door between 8:10 and 11 p.m. Oct. 26 at a first-floor apartment on the 900 block of East Golf Road and stole an iPad valued at $700 from a dining room table.

• Vandals poured gasoline on a home's walkway around 8:25 p.m. Oc. t 19 on the 2000 block of Charter Point and set the walkway on fire.

• Thieves stole an iPad around 11:25 a.m. Oct. 8, but reported Oct. 20, after a student left it in the cafeteria for five minutes at St. Viator High School, 1213 E. Oakton St. Value was estimated at $500.

• Thieves broke the locking strap and stole the roof rack between 6:30 p.m. Oct. 18 and 3 p.m. Oct. 20 from a 1997 Nissan Maxima in a driveway on the 1300 block of South Fernandez Avenue. The offenders unscrewed light bulbs on exterior lights to hide their actions. Value was estimated at $508.

• Burglars stole an audio cable and cellphone charger between 10 p.m. Oct. 17 and 8 a.m. Oct. 18 out of the glove box in a 2009 Nissan Versa in an apartment lot on the 4100 block of Bloomington Avenue. This is the second time someone has burglarized the car.

• Burglars broke into a 2012 Kia Sedona van between 5 and 9:45 p.m. Oct. 19 in a business lot at 555 W. Algonquin Road and stole two cellphones, wallet and money. Value was estimated at $510.

• Burglars stole $100 out of a cash drawer and an animal tranquilizer out of a medicine refrigerator between 4 p.m. Oct. 18 and 8:30 a.m. Oct. 19 at Prospect Animal Hospital, 2326 E. Rand Road.

• Burglars stole two cases of whiskey, six bottles of tequila, four bottles of vodka and three cases of beer between 2 a.m. and 6:41 p.m. Oct. 17 out of Byul Behm restaurant, 234 E. Golf Road. Value was estimated at $1,220.

• Burglars forced open the front door around 2:25 p.m. Oct. 18, setting off the burglar alarm, at a home on the 200 block of West Central Road. Nothing appeared to be missing or disturbed.

• Burglars forced open the front door between 8 a.m. and 5:26 p.m. Oct. 21 at a home on the 2300 block of East Gregory and stole a laptop computer, two iPads, an iPod, two designer handbags and an unknown amount of jewelry.

• Burglars tried but failed to force open the front door between 1:15 and 1:30 p.m. Oct. 21 at a home on the 1600 block of West Thomas Street.

• Burglars pried the rear door but did not get inside the Edge Table Tennis Club, 318 E. Golf Road, between 10:15 p.m. Oct. 16 and 10 a.m. Oct. 17.
