Boomers release 2014 baseball schedule

The Schaumburg Boomers’ defense of their 2013 Frontier League Championship will begin in Schaumburg on May 23 with their home opener against the Florence Freedom, team officials announced Thursday.

The Boomers, the Frontier League’s Organization of the Year last season, released the complete 96-game schedule (see PDF attachment).

Season tickets and Boomer Bundle ticket packages are on sale now with limited time Championship Specials available until Oct. 31 at 847-461-3695 or at www.boomersbaseball.com.

The Boomers will have eight Friday dates in 2014 that will feature fireworks at the ballpark. The Boomers also will host three straight fireworks shows on July 3 against Joliet, and July 4 and 5 with games against the Normal CornBelters, bringing the total fireworks shows to 12 with a Memorial Day Weekend fireworks show on May 25 and the annual Fan Appreciation Fireworks on Sept. 4.

“After such a terrific 2013 both on and off the field, we’re ready and excited to try and top it next summer,” Boomers president/general manager Andy Viano said. “We can’t wait to see Boomers Stadium packed and rocking on May 23!”

Once again in 2014, games on Monday through Friday will be scheduled with 6:30 p.m. start times, and Saturday contests set to begin at 6 p.m. Day baseball will return to Schaumburg on Sundays with start times slated for 1 p.m. All game times are subject to change.
