Boy Scouts to honor community leader George Pradel

Distinguished Citizen, Mayor George A. Pradel, Naperville's 40th Mayor will be honored by the Three Fires Council, Boy Scouts of America. The Scouts will recognize Mayor Pradel for his dedication to community service and the developmental welfare of its youth. The Distinguished Citizen Luncheon will be held on Wednesday, November 13, 2013 from 11:30am - 1:00pm at the Hotel Arista, located at 2139 CityGate Lane, Naperville, IL 60563.

Pradel is an energetic participant in groups and organizations such as the Naperville Lions Club, Naperville Rotary Club, American Cancer Society, Illinois Police Association, DuPage County Police Association, the Naperville Marines, VFW, American Legion and he is also an honorary member of the Naperville Exchange Club.

In addition, Mayor Pradel serves on many advisory boards or as a member of several boards of directors. These groups include: Police & Fire Pension, North East Multi-Regional Training, DuPage 100 Club, DePaul University, Unit School District 203 and the Naperville Development Partnership.

“Mayor Pradel is a passionate leader, and he's a tireless champion of youth,” said Matt Ackerman, Scout Executive for the Three Fires Council. “We are thrilled to recognize him for his commitment to young people and the community.”

The proceeds from the event will support the Scoutreach program ensuring that Scouting's leadership and character-building benefits are available to those youth who are most at risk and often overlooked by other youth programs.
