Taking back the family room

Kim King of Huntley nominated her family room with outdated furniture.
O'Reilly's Furniture recommends a nice, comfy sectional, such as this Taylor King three-piece sectional, along with a cocktail table to freshen up Kim King's family room.
I need help! Our family room has been a playroom for 10 years now and it's time to give it back! The carpet is stained, the furniture is my husband's bachelor pad stuff from the '90s, we never had end tables and we still use TV trays! Our son has had a great time in the room and now it's time to move the play table and toy box into the basement and rework the room into a family space. My dream is for a sectional "L"-shaped couch with some tables and maybe a full wall build out that incorporates our five-piece entertainment center. Please tell me you agree!

This room looks very 1980s. It needs some real TLC. It would look good with a nice big comfy sectional with a large cocktail table with matching endtables, lamps, wall unit to house a flat-screen TV, plus a big chair.
We would suggest an oversized sectional with fabric or leather, per the customer's liking, a big cocktail table, end tables and a wall unit. Another option would be to choose a sofa, loveseat, chair and tables.
For a higher-end redesign, the customer could consider a home theater with a sectional and recliners, a motion cocktail table (which would open up to provide more space for entertaining) and a wall unit.
We would talk to the customer to feel out what would be a good fit for them.
