St. Viator handles Marian Catholic

St. Viator won its second straight game, topping Marian Catholic 45-14 Friday night in Chicago Heights in East Suburban Catholic Conference play.

Quarterback Bobby Calmeyn threw for 5 touchdown passes and was 23-of-38 for 264 yards.

Receiver Matthew Darling caught 6 passes for 88 yards, including 3 touchdowns, while Joey McIntyre rushed for 104 yards on 19 carries along with 4 receptions for 54 yards and 1 TD.

Ben Dickey also caught 2 TD passes while making 8 catches for 97 yards.

Lions defensive back Brian Peters got credit for 6 tackles to spark the defense, which also received 5 tackles from Ben Tietz and 4 apiece from Luke Fulton and Ryan Calmeyn.

The victory keeps postseason opportunities alive for the Lions (5-3, 2-3), who will need one more win in Week 9 to clinch a playoff spot.

Marian Catholic (2-6, 0-5) has lost six straight games.
