SANDWICH, Ill. -- A northern Illinois landscaping company mechanic has died after a large commercial lawn mower fell on him.
The DeKalb County sheriff's separtment says the 37-year-old man died Thursday evening in Sandwich. DeKalb County chief Deputy Sheriff Gary Dumdie says the victim was working alone and repairing a broken belt under the mower. He tells The Beacon-News that the jack stands were knocked over and the mower apparently fell on the man.
He was pronounced dead at the scene. Police have not identified him.
Sheriff's police say the death was accidental but they continue to investigate.
