TriCity Family Services Auxiliary honors volunteer

Submitted by Friends of TriCity Family Services

On Sept. 19, more than 100 guests gathered at the Mill Creek Clubhouse to attend the Friends of TriCity Family Services third annual Fall Fashion Show.

During dinner, guests learned about the important role the Friends of TriCity Family Services auxiliary has in providing support to the agency. Energetic entertainment was provided after dinner, as models demonstrated trendsetting Parisian fashions from C’est La Vie by Sylvie in Geneva.

The event netted more than $2,500, and proceeds will enable the Friends of TriCity Family Services to provide support for the agency’s clients.

Connie Meister of St. Charles was honored at the event and presented with the 2013 Judy Burgess Award for Outstanding Volunteerism. She is a committed “Friend,” who has played an integral role in many of the agencies fundraising events, including “Savory Sips,” the poinsettia sale and “Snowflake Shuffle.”

She co-chaired the annual benefit in 2006, and every year since then has provided a steadying hand and knowledgeable direction in organizing the auction. For the past two years, Meister has served as the Friends Recording Secretary, and she recently took over the position of treasurer.

The Friends of TriCity Family Services thanks those who made this event a memorable evening, including C’est La Vie by Sylvie, the raffle donors, and the Mill Creek Clubhouse.

The Friends are always looking for new members. If you are interested in learning more about the Friends of TriCity Family Services and volunteer opportunities, call Hallie Hudson, TriCity Family Services Development associate, at (630) 232-1070 or email hhudson@tricityfamilyservices.org.
