Donate pet food for Make a Difference Day collection

Through Saturday, Oct. 26, Hoffman Estates Animal Hospital, 35 S. Barrington Road, South Barrington, is sponsoring a pet food collection drive in conjunction with the USA National Weekend "Make a Difference Day."

Young at Heart Senior Pet Rescue will be the beneficiaries of the collection.

Young at Heart is the only foster group working exclusively to find homes for older pets who are no longer wanted or who have lost their homes.

Hoffman Estates Animal Hospital will be collecting new, unopened bags and cans of dog and cat food. They are also in need of bags of scoopable cat litter. Any food they cannot use will be donated to Nina's Pantry, Schaumburg and Cuba Township food pantries.

Drop off locations include: Hoffman Estates Animal Hospital, South Barrington Park District, Palatine Park District (all locations) and Bentley's Corner Barkery/Schaumburg.
