Daily Herald staff report

Bartlett residents have until Thursday, Oct. 24, to register for the Bartlett Park District's annual Halloween home decorating contest.

Homes will be judged in two categories: theatrical or themed. The theatrical category will be judged on the use of lights, music, sound, live actors, animation and participation. The themed category will be judged on the use of materials that form a theme, the creativity in the display and thoughtfulness into creating something that encompasses the Halloween season. More is not necessarily better.

Members of the judging committee will visit the homes on Monday, Oct. 28, via a park district bus. The contest is free and open to residents ages 18 and older. For more information, visit
