About this Article

For the third year, students at Windsor Elementary School in Arlington Heights tasted a little of the "farm-to-table" experience. Students planted seeds last winter, and last week enjoyed a homemade butternut squash soup. "it's a beautiful way to connect kids to the food they eat," says Chef Tom Leavitt of White Oak Gourmet in Arlington Heights.
