Libertyville-area fire under investigation

By Steve Zalusky

Officials are investigating a house fire that took place Saturday night in an unincorporated area near Libertyville and resulted in injuries to one firefighter.

According to the Libertyville fire department, fire personnel were dispatched to 29750 Oakspring Lane at 9:30 p.m.

Firefighters said they found a fully involved fire that required them to bring in water because the house was in a rural area.

The department was unable to provide specific information about the condition of the firefighter, other than to say he was taken to Advocate Condell Medical Center.

There were no other injuries. The house was uninhabited at the time because it was being refurbished, firefighters said.

Firefighters were unable to provide damage estimates.
