Libertyville fire open house

The Libertyville fire department hosts an open house from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 12, at the main fire station, 1551 N. Milwaukee Ave. Kids can slide down a fire pole, climb inside a fire truck and learn how to escape a kitchen house fire. Visitors can see a high-angle rescue drill, tour the fire house and watch demonstrations. Parents are encouraged to bring a camera for the many photo opportunities.
