Womens Boxing Club Hosts Fundraiser for Local Woman (Correction)

Knocking Out Breast Cancer - Round 3 for Lyndsie

On October 18th and 19th, 2013, Knockout Women's Boxing Club in Westmont will host their third annual Breast Cancer Fundraiser. This year has a special mission as a Downers Grove North High School alumni, Lyndsie Blythe Thoele, who now resides in St. Charles, Mo., with her husband and two small children, has been recently diagnosed with Stage 3 Breast Cancer at the age of 31.

Knockout Women's Boxing Club has hosted a breast cancer fundraiser every October since they opened their doors in 2011. This cause is very close to Knockout owner Jessica Storchs' heart as she lost her grandmother 5 years ago to the disease. Learning that her high school classmate is battling cancer she is eager to help her win this fight.

"This is our third year hosting our Breast Cancer Fundraiser, so we are calling it Round 3 for Lyndsie. I was so sad to hear that my former classmate is battling breast cancer. This disease affects so many women, it's a cause Knockout Women's Boxing Club really rallies behind. We are going to do all we can to show Lyndsie we are in her corner and fighting for her", says Storch.

Not only did Storch feel compelled to help Lyndsie but so did many of her former Downers Grove North classmates. They have come together to create Care for Lyndsie to help raise funds and provide support. Care for Lyndsie will also be hosting a fundraiser November 16th, 2013 at 7:00PM at Pinstripes in Oak Brook, IL.

"Lyndsie is and always has been a strong woman and we know she can beat this. It is amazing to see everyone come together to help her, that's what community is all about. No matter how many years have passed, when someone in your community needs support you join the fight. ", states Storch.

Knockout Women's Boxing Club's "Knockout Breast Cancer: Round 3 For Lynsdie" will be held at their club and cost $20 per person with all proceeds going to Care for Lyndsie. The Co-Ed Boxing class is Friday October 18th at 6:30PM, with an after party at Neutral Zone in Westmont, where a portion of the food and drink purchases will also be donated.

The Women Only Boxing classes are Saturday October 19th at 8:30AM and 9:30AM. Along with the fundraising workouts, there will be an Open House Saturday, a fundraising raffle and a Boxing Demo where attendees can watch owner Jessica Storch and her Knockout staff show off some of their boxing skills!

Glove up and help Knockout Women's Boxing Club KnockOut Breast Cancer! No boxing experience is required and Storch explains that all the workouts will be beginner friendly.
