Lake Zurich clinches NSC Lake crown

Kiley McPeek pounded 9 kills, Kristen Walding added 24 assists and 7 kills, and Lake Zurich's girls volleyball team clinched the North Suburban Lake Division championship with a 25-12, 26-24 win over host Warren on Wednesday night.

Mallory Parsons also had 7 kills for Lake Zurich (21-2, 5-0). Sydney Glover added 3 kills, 2 blocks, 2 aces and 2 digs. Mickenzie Andrews chipped in 3 kills, 2 blocks and 2 aces, while Ashley Dina chalked up 21 digs. Allie McIlwain had 3 kills in the win.

Warren received 6 kills and 9 digs from Jenna Walczak.

Lakes d. Grant: Megan Behrendt and McKenna Lahr had 10 and 9 kills, respectively, as the Eagles rallied for a 24-26, 25-23, 25-15 win in North Suburban Prairie action.

Maddie Demo had 7 kills, 24 assists, 13 digs and 2 aces for Lakes (14-2, 4-0). Aly Bathery led the Eagles in digs with 18, Lisa Buehler and Behrendt each had 12. Bathery served 3, aces.

Grant got 12 kills and 3 aces from Beka Couch. Anna Panasenko and Jamie Reiser each slammed 3 kills for the Bulldogs. Nicole Buckley and Panasenko posted 4 and 3 blocks, respectively, while Kate Kiser lofted 9 assists. Deanna Rodriguez contributed 8 digs.

Vernon Hills d. Wauconda: Val Barybina had 6 kills and 2 blocks, and Jade Goldufsky served 4 aces. as the Cougars pulled off a 25-18, 25-22 upset in North Suburban Prairie play.

Katie Brettman had 3 kills and 3 aces for Vernon Hills, while Jenna Joyce chipped in 3 blocks and 2 kills. Tori Smith set 45 of 46 with 13 assists.

Wauconda (13-7, 2-2) received 13 kills from Susan Karhoff. Lauren Nee had 13 digs for the Bulldogs, and LeAnne Sakowicz racked up 3 kill and 11 assists. Cristina Vitucci served 2 aces.

Stevenson d. Zion-Benton: Khaila Donaldson had 8 kills, 7 digs and 2 aces, as the Patriots won 25-13, 25-20 in North Suburban Lake action.

Stevenson (17-5, 3-2) also received 5 kills from Jen Kapov and 4 apiece from Grace Duffy and Kara Maleski. Nikki Zarytsky served 3 aces. Corissa Kurth dished out 25 assists.

Libertyville d. Mundelein: Alex Basler pounded 11 kills, Rhiannon Prentiss added 6, and Vicky Liu served 6 aces, as the Wildcats won the North Suburban Lake match 25-5, 25-17.

Morgan O'Brien and Liu contributed 11 and 8 digs, respectively, for the Wildcats. O'Brien also delivered 4 aces.

Madi Wilcox had 2 kills and Sarah Bregenzer served 2 aces for Mundelein.
